FIVDB USA was founded in 2018 as an international affiliate of Friends in Village Development Bangladesh. FIVDB USA provides technical assistance and capacity building expertise as well as financial support to FIVDB Bangladesh.
FIVDB was founded in 1979 to enhance the quality of life of disadvantaged people in 23 villages in north-eastern Bangladesh. Our initial community-based programming focused on agriculture, credit and functional literacy. We have since expanded our approach to include education and financial empowerment alongside advocacy to build a better future. We deliver comprehensive capacity-building programs to villages and communities and support positive policy reforms at multiple levels of government. From grassroots education projects to innovative training programs, FIVDB empowers people of all ages to realize their rights and build vibrant, sustainable livelihoods.
