SPOTLIGHT:
human rights education
Beginning in 2019, Friends in Village Development Bangladesh is incorporating human rights education as part of its growing justice-centered programming in the Rohingya refugee camps.
Friends in Village Development Bangladesh has partnered with Books Unbound to develop a set of flashcards depicting the 30 Universal Human Rights to use in education centers and child-friendly spaces. The cards are translated into English, Rohingya and Burmese and feature figures that Rohingya children can see themselves in, so that kids see their part in achieving human rights for all.
FIVDB partner OBAT Helpers is piloting and implementing the cards across its primary education centers in the Rohingya refugee camps.
The cards are just one part of FIVDB’s efforts to improve justice awareness across its programming. Check back soon for more updates about our work to promote legal understanding and healing through justice in Cox’s Bazar.
